Preamble
The focus of our work is the human being with his/her needs as a physical-mental-spiritual being who is integrated into a social community and into the natural environment. We are committed to ensuring that the life of the individual is possible in the greatest possible freedom, security and personal responsibility. Living together in a community of equal individuals should be made possible in mutual responsibility and solidarity. Respect for nature and its sustainable protection are also an integral part of our policy.
We stand firmly on the basis of the Irish Constitution and are committed to uphold all fundamental rights warranted in the constitution. These must also apply in crisis situations. We clearly and decisively distance ourselves from any form of extremist efforts that undermine the liberal democratic order and actively try to prevent them.
Our work is supported by four pillars:
The pillar of freedom: For freedom, responsibility in the sense of personal and external responsibility is indispensable. Freedom also means that all responsible people have a fair say in decisions that affect them. For this reason, grassroots democracy is an essential part of freedom.
The pillar of limiting power: Functionaries and elected representatives of the party are to obtain recommendations for decisions through regular surveys and votes in the various regional associations.
The pillar of loving and respectful interaction means first of all a mindful handling of oneself, because this also results in respectful dealings with fellow human beings.
The pillar of swarm intelligence means transforming the wisdom of the many into concrete politics. Often, expert knowledge alone is not enough to grasp complex, interdisciplinary topics, because only a problem considered from many different perspectives can be recognized and solved in its entirety.
Our political work has the following objectives:
- Freedom of the individual. Civil liberties are the most important fundamental rights. A free society can only exist if power and power structures are limited.
- Equal rights for people among themselves. A democratic society requires grassroots democratic decision-making, in which all responsible citizens can participate equally in political decisions.
- Mindfulness and solidarity in living together. Being human and respecting each other’s humanity serve as models in a free society in which people cultivate a loving, peaceful and solidary relationship with each other.
- Sustainability in dealing with nature. Nature is our indispensable livelihood. It requires constant care and responsible, prudent preservation.
1. Basic principles
Society is undergoing a transformation that will affect everything. This change should take place peacefully, liberally and in a common for and togetherness. It all begins with a loving treatment of oneself and one’s neighbor and can only be continued in this way.
More and more people are realizing that we have reached a limit with our previous political and economic system that requires fundamental rethinking and courageous new action. Despite a wide range of ideas and initiatives, however, there is usually a lack of political will to implement new concepts in society. The Reclaim Ireland Party stands for the fact that new ideas and impulses for action can also be implemented politically.
We see a fundamental problem of the current crisis of humanity in the fact that more and more areas of social life are subordinated to economic maxims of profit maximization and/or the political gain and retention of power. A new, human and natural social order therefore presupposes that social life is unbundled into three relatively independent areas.
1.1 Unbundling of the intellectual-cultural, legal and economic spheres
The intellectual-cultural sphere, which includes education, research and science, medicine, culture, public sport and the media, must not be determined by economic or power-political interests, but must preserve or maintain freedom and independence.
The legal field of politics and the rule of law regulates social coexistence according to the principles of equality and balancing justice. We are committed to ensuring that in political life a continuous, direct participation of citizens is ensured through grassroots democratic procedures as well as easy access to justice for all people.
The economic sector is based on cooperation and solidarity. Since an economy is only sustainable if it works socially and ecologically at the same time, the state should define economic framework conditions and tax incentives through which economic activity serves the social and ecological common good.
2. Sector-specific principles
2.1 Intellectual and cultural field: education, science, medicine, sports, art and culture
Education is a fundamental human right; it must not be determined by economic or state interests. We are committed to a diverse and free education system.
Just as people don’t just learn in one way, they don’t just get well through one method. We are committed to the diversity of medical and therapeutic approaches and methods.
Art, culture, as well as public sporting events satisfy basic spiritual needs of man. We are committed to sufficient state funding for artistic and cultural activities as well as public sports events in Ireland.
2.2 Legal field: politics, democracy, social affairs, internal and external security, international politics
Politics must enable people to participate in the decisions that determine their lives. We are committed to transforming democracy at all political levels through the possibility of direct, grassroots democratic co-determination.
We are committed to equal treatment of people and are firmly opposed to any form of discrimination.
Politics must ensure Ireland’s internal and external security without sealing off our country to immigrants and violating fundamental human rights.
We see multilateral cooperation, which respects the autonomy of countries and regions, the preservation of peace, the uncompromising commitment to human rights, fair economic cooperation based on mutual benefit, and environmental sustainability as guiding principles of European and international policy.
2.3 Economic sector: economy and trade, labour, taxation and infrastructure, agriculture and ecology
Economy serves people, not the other way around. It must not exploit or destroy people or the natural foundations of life. We are therefore committed to solidarity and ecologically sustainable management and fair trade.
Economic life is based on individual initiative and a balance of interests. It must therefore not be controlled by the State and must be based on mutual agreements between economic operators and on free pricing.
It is part of a dignified existence that every human being can sufficiently satisfy his material needs without being subject to economic or state coercion. We are committed to providing sufficient basic financial security for every person.
We are committed to a fair and comprehensible tax system, in particular for the taxation of international corporations operating in Ireland.
The public infrastructure serves the common good. It is therefore the responsibility of the state and must not be subordinated to private sector interests.
We support the transition of the energy industry to climate neutrality and ecological sustainability.
Nature is our indispensable livelihood. We are therefore not only morally obliged to treat it respectfully and sustainably. We are therefore committed to environmental and animal welfare as well as to the conversion of agriculture to sustainable, organic farming.
Closing Remarks
The Reclaim Ireland Party strives to enable full political responsibility for the citizens. To this end, it develops technical swarm tools for submitting ideas, using information and voting. These tools can be used free of charge by party members. In the future, voters should be able to use their vote continuously according to their own knowledge and conscience, again and again, on a case-by-case basis and from home.
